This is the national flag of Albania.
Albania is located in Europe, and borders Montenegro, Kosovo, the Republic of Macedonia, Greece, and the Adriatic and Ionian seas. Albania became part of the Ottoman Empire in 1478, and declared its independence in 1912.
The flag depicts a two-headed eagle, and is in the striking colours of black and red. The naval ensign consists of white and red, with the same two-headed eagle design, shown below.
Albania has a population of roughly 3.5 million people. Albania imports goods from both Greece and Italy, which also provide it with financial aid. The capital of Albania is Tirana.
The most popular sport in Albania is football (soccer). However the Albanian civil ensign (shown below) features a striking resemblance to the flag of the Essendon Football Club in Australia.
